Shelby 2008

Last week was spent with the Trosko family in Shelby, MI. It was nice to get away from things and get to spend some time at the beach. The weather was much better for us this year, and the water was quite comfortable. I could go on and on, but they say a picture is worth a thousand words, and clicking on the photo above will get you 229,000 words (plus comments).

Overall, Jake and Colin got along great this year. Colin appreciated that Jake can talk and follow along with what he's doing. Jake liked that Colin had a lot of toys. Maiya liked that there was food, and that the boys would occasionally include her.

We are pretty sure that Jake gets his social tendencies from me. He doesn't seem to like to be in a small space with a lot of people (even 6 in a kitchen can seem like a lot). By the end of the week he was starting to get pretty fussy. When we got home, he was ecstatic to have a whole house to himself. It probably took 5 days to get there though, so maybe by next year, it won't even be an issue.
